About BasketballTested

The right basketball gear depends on where you play and who is playing: an indoor leather ball wears out on asphalt, youth leagues use smaller balls and sometimes lower rims, and a hoop's backboard material decides how it plays. BasketballTested explains those choices and compares gear on them.

We cover shoes, balls, hoops and court gear, training equipment, apparel and protective gear. We do not cover NBA news, betting or fantasy. General gym equipment belongs to FitnessCriteria and casual sneakers to FashionVetted.
